Montrose Borough Council Meeting Notice

The next Council meeting will be on Monday,

December 6, 2021

7:00 p.m.

Notice is hereby given the 2022 proposed budget for the Borough of Montrose is available for public inspection during normal business hours (8:00am-4:00pm Monday - Friday) at the Borough Office, 89 Cherry Street, Montrose, Pa.  The budget will be adopted at a Regular Meeting of the Montrose Borough Council on December 6, 2021 at 7:00pm.

 

Proposed Tax Ordinance for the Borough of Montrose will be 14 mills for General Purposes in 2022. Said Ordinance will be enacted at the Regular Meeting on December 6, 2021 at 7:00pm.

Subdivision Aiken / A2Z Properties will be discussed approved and/or denied at this meeting.

During the January 4, 2021 Council meeting the newly formed Police Civil Service Commission members were sworn in:

Peg Miner representing the Ayres Stone Post 5642 Auxiliary presented to Borough Council from the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States the Patriotic Citizen Award for unsolicited inspirational patriotic service to the community through the daily display of our National Flag.  President of Council Sean Granahan graciously accepted the award on behalf of Council during Council's regular meeting on April 2nd.

At Council's regularly scheduled meeting on December 4th we bid farewell to John R. Wilson, who for the past 12 years served the Borough of Montrose as Mayor.  Mayor Wilson will be missed but we are all hoping he enjoys his retirement and comes to some meetings as a resident of the Borough and stays in touch.  Future Mayor, Tom LaMont presented  to Mayor Wilson from Council members a jacket to show their appreciation for his service to the community.
